Hello World :D Welcome To The Madarao Nekre Blog!

Updated: Aug 15, 2021

Wow, this is the first ever Blog post on this silly little site I made! Hehehe, I say that in a good way, I'm going to have a lot of fun with this because it doubles as practice for work! Learning a lot about SEO management and other important web development stuff through this. It's going well - this is the first fansite I've taken so seriously and honestly? This is the best decision I've made with my hobbies as of late. Learn AND have fun, both at once, you know? And I know elements and parts of this website still are similar to my previous, more ironic work, but regardless this is still a lot more cleaner than any other non-professional work I've put out in terms of web development, so I'm super happy about this.

I will actually write fanfiction and what not here, and I'll make sure to back things up into Tumblr, AO3, Wattpad and other websites too! Woohoo!

I had a lot of fun designing the logo for this website, and would love to go into the details of what the logo exactly is:

First of all, the font I've used for this logo is called Mrs Sheppards from Google Fonts, and there's a very specific reason I chose this font!

Let's take a look at Madarao's design for a sec:

Madarao Official Character Art - Transparent PNG - - Madarao Nekre - Kekkaishi Ayakashi Fansite - 斑尾 - 結界師 - by Yellow Tanabe (イエロウ田辺)
Official Character Art - Transparent - Madarao the Ayakashi - Kekkaishi by Yellow Tanabe

What are some things we notice that I took inspiration for the logo from?

The font itself was chosen because how swirly and full of motion his design is - even when he is still, you can tell he's supposed to be flying, floating and flowing all around. I felt that a font that looked like it's in motion would be a nice fit for the M and N (obviously standing for Madarao Nekre, hahaha). The font also makes the M and the N look like it's one swift, snake-like line, which, a) was a complete coincidence - that wasn't my plan at all! Serendipity! And b) Madarao too looks like a snake, so...that's perfect!

Secondly, the target-like circle itself - which is the main component to the logo - is both a reference to his eyes and the spots on his tail and, subsequently, his name - Madarao (斑尾) - which means Spotted (斑) Tail (尾)! (Tokimori-san names people and animals like I do...hahahaha. Take a guess as to why my dog is called Vanilla? Other than the Sonic the Hedgehog reference of course, wwwwwwww).

So, I'm really happy with how everything came out when it comes to both the logo and the website! Hopefully, this is the start to something fun and meaningful for me. Thank you for reading this post and I hope to see you on Madarao Nekre again!
